Living in good ole Austin, Texas, you are surrounded by "healthy people." We seem to be a little more wise to what to do to keep our bodies in good shape such as run or walk around Town Lake nka Lady Bird Lake. Or ride our bikes down 360 wearing our tight bike outfits to look more like fellow Austinite Lance Armstrong. Okay, my point is that if you are slobbing it out in Austin, Texas then you just might stand out a bit. We are very health conscious people as a whole, stereotyping a little bit here and there. Plus these days with the "going green" all over the place it is right in your face reminding you that you are either 1) hurting the environment with the things you do and buy and 2) hurting yourself, your body, mind and soul with the things your are buying and eating. Let alone that fact that we would like Mother Earth to be around when our children's children are here.
So this rambling topic leads me to how this comes into contact with my religious views being a Southern Baptist if you will...well, since God made this beautiful earth and all that is in it including the people (though some I wish he had not, oops, that wasn't very christian like...) and the animals and plants then don't you think that he would want us taking care of this beautiful place that we take up as our home. Let me answer that for you...YES! He loves his people, his beautiful Earth and doesn't want us to hurt it or ourselves.
On top of all of that, when you become a parent, you become very conscious of what you are putting in your mouth. Especially if you are breastfeeding and of course while you are pregnant. Your life takes backstage (along with showing everyday) as you nurture and help your child grow into who they are going to be. This is where I decided that I was a semi-crunchy christian. I choose to do some organic and some not, I choose to raise my child as natural to me as I can (without listening to outside comments unless warranted) and I choose to teach my child the goodness of Christ Our Savior.
So this blog is to let me help others become more "Crunchy Christian" in their own lives.
